Gallery - The Princeville Granny Flat

The owners of this 4 bedroom two bathroom house in Connolly, are of retirement age. They love their location, with the stunning views at the end of their garden overlooking the prestigious Joondalup Resort Golf club, however, they are worried the house will one day be to big to manage. The clients decided to build a granny flat extension to the side of their home which will act at present as an entertaining zone and accommodation for their many guests who regularly come to stay with them. In time the Granny Flat extension will become their home whilst the main residence will be rented out, providing them with an income in their retirement years.

The owners were very specific with their requests and with a healthy budget all of their wishes were accommodated. The granny flat was to be of a double brick construction with tiled roof so it blended in seamlessly with the existing home. Some of the requirements were, full height tiling to the bathroom, wide door ways for wheel chair access, bulkhead in ceiling to the main living area, large bedroom with large robe, large kitchen with stone bench tops, portico with timber lined ceiling, decking and large feature front door,  and a decked alfresco area with raking timber lined ceilings.

The owners were delighted with the end result, and now find themselves spending more time in the granny flat than their main home.
